polygon-explorer.org is an independent review site about Polygon block explorers. We compare the explorers people actually use, explain how to read what they show, and offer free live tools so you can check a transaction, a wallet or the network yourself. We aren't Polygon Labs, and we don't run any of the explorers we review.
Who we are
We're a small editorial team of writers and developers who have used EVM chains daily for years, as users, builders and support people answering questions in community chats. The site started from a simple frustration: most “best Polygon explorer” lists were copied from each other, still talked about MATIC and Mumbai, and had clearly never been tested. We wanted a reference that is checked against live data and updated when the network changes.
Our mission is to make Polygon's public data understandable to everyone, not just developers. That means plain-English guides, honest reviews with clear scores, and tools that work without sign-up. Our live explorer reads straight from public APIs in your browser, so you can verify anything we write.
How we test and score explorers
Every explorer in our ranking of Polygon explorers goes through the same routine. We look up the same set of reference items on each one: a simple POL transfer, a native USDC payment, a failed swap, a contract interaction with internal transactions, an NFT mint, a busy block and a large wallet with hundreds of tokens. We note what each explorer shows, how fast it loads and where it gets things wrong. We repeat key tests after major network upgrades, such as Heimdall v2 in July 2025.
Each explorer receives a score from 1 to 5 in six categories, combined with fixed weights into the overall rating:

Scores are rounded to one decimal. We don't accept payment for inclusion or for a higher score, and an explorer can't buy its way into the ranking. When facts change, we update the page and the “Updated” date. Our own tool is never ranked, because we can't review ourselves fairly.
We also check claims against primary sources: the Polygon documentation, each explorer's own docs and live data from the chain. If we're unsure about a number, we describe it qualitatively or point you to the live tool rather than guess.
Editorial independence and partner links
The site is funded through partner links. Some buttons and banners, marked as calls to action, lead to a licensed cryptocurrency exchange that pays us if a reader opens an account. The exchange has no say over our reviews, rankings or guides, doesn't see articles before publication and isn't mentioned by name in our editorial content. Links to explorers and to other third-party websites are not paid.
Partner links never change a score. If we ever enter a commercial relationship with a company we review, we'll disclose it on the relevant page. Nothing on this site is financial advice; please read our disclaimer for details.
Corrections and contact
We make mistakes like anyone else, and on-chain facts move fast. If you spot an error, an outdated number or a broken tool, email contact@polygon-explorer.org with the page and what's wrong. We fix confirmed errors promptly and note significant corrections. Explorer operators who want their product considered can write to the same address.
